WebJan 26, 2024 · Radiation-induced optic neuropathy (RION) is still a devastating complication of brain and skull base radiation that has no effective treatment up until today, thus uttermost caution must be taken in treating patients that brain radiotherapy is needed. We present two cases of RION that happened in seemingly safe radiation doses. WebLesions of Meyer's Loop of the optic radiation on one side produces a loss of the upper, outer quadrant of vision on the same side in both eyes - homonymous superior quadrantanopia.
