Webactivity of alkali promoted iron oxide catalyst is about one order of magnitude higher than that of the un-promoted iron oxide1. Among various alkali and alkaline earth promoters, Cs, Rb and K have proven to show the best performance. Being cheaper than both Cs and Rb, potassium is the preferred promoter.
